THE MUSEUM AT BETHEL WOODS The museum will explore the unique experience of the Woodstock Festival, its significance as a culminating event of a decade of radical cultural transformation, and the legacies of the 60s and Woodstock today. Through personal stories and profiles, immersive multi-media exhibit displays including 20 films, 5 interactive productions and a 132-seat high-definition theater featuring a 21 minute film, “Woodstock: The Music”, that includes new footage from the artists at the festival, the Museum encourages intergenerational dialogue about important ideas and issues relevant to today. It also preserves that historic site on which the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair took place. The Museum is an impressive facility with permanent exhibit space, a special exhibits gallery, an events gallery that hosts the Music in the Museum series, a Terrace Stage that hosts the Arts Under the Stars series, and a retail store. Visitors may also experience the significant locations of the site in an Interpretive Walking Tour that includes the Woodstock festival monument and the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. The site is also the location for the annual Harvest Festival of themed Sunday events that celebrate the beauty and bounty of the region with fresh produce, arts and crafts, and a children’s area. VILLA ROMA COUNTRY CLUB The Villa Roma's golf course, built in 1986, is one of the newest in the Catskills. Golf Digest has called it "A little slice of heaven". The course has matured into what is now the best fairways and greens in the region. The par 71, 6,499 yard course is a perfect challenge for the expert and the 6,200 to 6,350 yard course is well-matched for beginners, women and juniors. The front 9 is very generous off the tee but the greens must be read properly with its undulations. The back 9 is longer and more challenging, but rewards the solidly struck shots. You won't want to miss the magnificent views of the course and countryside. Driving range, putting green, and locker facilities are also available. Open Apr. 1-Nov. 15 |
